God’s love never changes, never fails, and never ends. No matter what the situation, no matter how you feel or what you have done, God’s love will always be there. God’s love is the one thing you can always count on. He promises to love you no matter what you go through. God’s love for you doesn’t change because of your actions. When you really mess up and fall into sin, it’s easy to think that God no longer loves you. We have all had times when friends abandoned us, and we were left all alone. When your world falls apart or you experience a major failure, it’s easy to feel like no one loves you. His grace is has nothing to do with how good or bad you are. There is nothing you can do to make God love you more and nothing you can do to make God love you less. God’s grace is poured out on you every day. The New Testament word for lovingkindness is grace. It is his determined love that shows mercy and forgiveness. His lovingkindness is his love for you that goes beyond your response. Lovingkindness is God’s commitment love for you.
It’s one of those Bible words you hear but may not really know what it means. Lovingkindness is not a word we use very often. The Old Testament often uses the word “lovingkindness” to describe God’s love. His love sent Jesus to bring us salvation. God’s love is at the very center of the Gospel. When your whole world is shaken, and everything seems to be falling apart, you can always count on God’s love.
There is only one thing you can count on in this world, and it’s not death and taxes. “For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, and My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” says the LORD who has compassion on you.
